0800 Reverse Rip Off!

    Then it is your mistake for not preparing him or allowing him out on his own. Every sensible child knows a reversed charge call is made in a call box by dialing the operator on 100 and asking them to be put through. And if a call box is not available every child knows a call through a mobile will be extortionate. If you don't want him to run up bills don't allow the child to have a mobile.

    And by the way, check your facts before spouting off, a BT reverse charge call from a call box costs £1.09 for the first 30 seconds and £1.26 for each subsequent 30 seconds, more than double the cost of 0800 reverse from a mobile.

    Threads like this are the reason I hardly ever bother posting.

    I'm convinced MSE is turning into therapy for the mass of passive-aggressive people out there. Does anyone want to help anyone else anymore? The Government clearly needs to create some kind of internet licence so that idiots like KimYeovil aren't allowed to waste mine and everyone else's time by posting on here.

    Sorry my psychic powers must be on the blink, I stupidly thought that Heinz had posted an answer to my question. Remember some of us don't live on this forum, I didn't realise I had to trawl through every thread that has ever been posted to see if my topic has it's own specialist niche :doh:

    You could opt out: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3745138&postcount=16

    Maybe not being so rude and ungrateful might get a better response. Some people!
    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    You wonder why some of us bother to come on here and offer help week after week, month after month, year after year.
    It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Too true, I wonder sometimes why I bother helping. AirCooledHeaven has done themselves no favours.

    I mean I explain to them, that's why Heinz posted the link, and they jump down my throat, maybe next time I won't bother and they'll be on my 'miserable so and so list'.

    Heinz was only also offering help, by pointing the OP in the right direction, yet they pounce! There was no need whatsoever for that.

    It was my fault, I just posted the link to Martin's thread without a, "Martin started a thread on this whole issue back in 2006, you may find some useful information therein" explanation.
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
