check your interest rates and send to the highest ones.
Can you not do a card payment over the phone or send it by bacs, it does cost you extra for postal order and of course there is also the postage.

You could pay over the phone, you would not have to send the letter,
They would give you a payment reference number to put on your letter and then all you would have to do is file it away for any future reference and there would always be a cross reference on your bank statement.

If you paid by bank transfer there is a box for you to put the reference or name into it, again you would have proof of payment on your bank statement.

    Debrag:
Just to be clear - are you sending a DPA SAR request/ CCA request? If so then you need to put that in writing and enclose payment

    a SAR request.

I'm sure I read somewhere that someone paid online

Orford is 100% correct. If you send a payment online, regardless of the narrative, it will be credited to the other accounts and not treated as a DPA/SAR. Everything in writing so that there is a clear audit trail of what you have done, when and where and that you have paid the statutory £10.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
