flis21....I was only saying my views on the place and due to a very bad experience I wouldnt go back I have been twice and the first time we had a wonderful holiday but the last time went went to tarnished the whole counrty for me. Remember a holiday is what you make it and we all have different views on each country we visit I for one love Turkey and Egypt (expecialy Cairo) but if you look around there are so many people out there that hate it in those countries. Go and have a fantastic time and make your own mid up about the placeIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0

I've not been a rep for 10 years! Also, I do think someone saying 'all of tunisia is a shi****e' is bordering on being racist. I think Tunisia is great!
Don't take it the wrong way...but I still think it's not the done thing to take food from restaurants furtively-especially as Hotels clearly state 'no food to be taken from the restaurant'.
The comments that have upset the OP are people so vehemently saying Tunisia is c**p without really backing it up...hence my last post about Tunisia.
Chill out! 'Bitter & twisted' is a bit extreme....I just find it offensive when people take food from Hotel restuarants secretly & when it's clearly against Hotel rules. I don't think anyone would dream of doing it in the UK.

If you think i'm being racist then so be it, but i personally think your trying to stir up a hornets nest that doesn't exist, so i shall ignore you and the likes of you like i always do.
My idea of a holiday, and i'm sure most people feel the same way, is to relax with the family and enjoy myself, getting mithered by people who have the sole intention of ripping you off and making your life hell is not my idea of relaxation (when i was in Turkey i was offered money for my SON) so get off your high horse and try growing up a little, you think you know it all, well you dont, and like i said, if you tried anything like that on me abroad or not, you would regret it for a long long time, believe me.
PS: and it's still a sh*thole, but thats my opinion, some people have higher standards than others0 -

Well, if you just want somewhere warm with cheap booze - plenty of 24x7 Asda and Tesco stores around...
Haven't been to Tunisa, but had a couple of good weeks in Morocco a year or so back. Yes, you do get lots of people trying to flog you stuff, booze is expensive and it might cost you a fiver in tips but the non-touristy bits are well worth it. Funniest bit was trying to take a picture in the market square in Marrakesh - every time I pointed the camera, thousands of water-sellers and people flogging pots and pans appeared, reminded me of the "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition" sketch... Like Khizman I went on the local bus - better service than over here and some 'interesting' tea-break stops as well.
Like most places really - go with an open mind but keep your wits about you.0 -
as there has been a complaint about this threaad I am locking it whilst the abuse team decide if it is likelyto endanger the reputation of the site. I hope you all understand the reasons for my action in this instance.
