The Share Centre are excellent. Have had an account for 5 years or so. On a par with the Halifax Sharedealing accounts. They seem to known what they are doing. Plenty of free advice from their website, or you can 'phone them up for free advice too. Alternatively, they will just let you get on with it if that's what you want.
They provide two different "share accounts" either outside or inside an ISA (or both). These can be accessed by Web or telephone -- you pay into the account over the 'phone using a debit card, or send a cheque by post.
One of the share accounts is structured towards someone who deals often, the other (cheaper) to one who deals infrequently. You can buy shares for £2.50 and sell them from £7.50. If you buy some of there own shares (traded on a special exchange), you can get big discounts on your dealing costs.0
