Updated Printable Money off Coupons & Policies Thread 3

I recently had to return an item to Tescos, bought with coupons.
I had the receipt but they refused a refund, so I said I would accept a giftcard and use later. This was also refused. They would only exchange for a similar item.
Is this correct policy? Surely if they accept coupons as cash, they should refund as cash? Or is that asking too much?
asking for a cash refund on items purchased with coupons is just taking the !!!! - its people like you who will end up getting the policy stopped alltogether - kicking up a stink expecting them to give you cash - your having a laugh - i mean !!!!!! its not like what you were returning cost you anything in the first place0 -
Thanks but be careful about using this in T's atm.... I have seen it reported that they do scan it T's BUT my store handed it back as not stocked by T's (For which I apologised) - I have looked on MySupermarket and Tesco.com and it wasn't shown there so unless you actually see it in your branch I would be a bit wary of using it...
There was some debate about whether this mattered as long as 'T' stocked it somewhere it was OK to use a moc but I take the other view as I do not know the full story about them claiming their money back so don't want to upset them.....
Each store redeems their coupons separately and not as a chain so they will not receive credit for the coupon if the store doesn't stock it so please don't use it in a store that doesn't stock it as that is one of the reasons for them to stop taking coupons!!!Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -

There is nothing wrong with a high profile at all if you always use legitimate coupons. I went thru a similar experience with 2 of my local stores 2 years ago to finally drag them kicking and screaming to accept the coupon policy.
One Store Manager knew my name as I had to meet him and write to him to resolve the whole problem. And 2 of the worst rudest Supervisors still scowl whenever they see me in one store.
I don't care if they like me or not, both stores allow coupons ever since and I am PROUD I stuck my neck out. You have done everyone a service by paving the way for other couponers not to suffer such rudeness in that store from now on, which is great. I now feel I can send my teenage daughter in with a few mocs once in a while, knowing she won't get any hassle at all. I wouldn't have DARED subject her to the horrendous treatment they used to dole out to me regularly. Sounds very similar to your store.
Good on you!:T
I don't suppose you could go to the Dudley store and sort them out with taking coupons again!! LOL:rotfl:Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -
I received two Skinny Cow Hot Chocolate samples in the post today and also came with a 50p MOC. I cannot remember when or how I applied for this but may be worth a search
Very nice: one chocolate and one mint and both lovely. Oh my god I may have to use the MOC to actually buy product - now that would be weird0 -
I received them this morning, too- have tried the mint one already- it`s yummy!:j0

That's not strictly true, printable coupons cost in time, ink and paper. Others cost the price of the magazine or newspaper. Also Tesco get to redeem those coupons (plus a small handling fee) so should give you something in return. I have bought something in the past on coupons that I needed to return. I was happy with the credit voucher that my store gave me.
Obviously it would become apparently quite quickly if anyone was abusing this by buying stuff with coupons and getting lots of credit vouchers.“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”:D0 -

Is there any need for such rudeness? the OP was asking a genuine question.
this is a friendly thread, let's keep it that way please.:D0 -

There aren't any known faults with those coupons - they work fine for most people. The onyl faulty barcodes are on the last heat coupon and on the goodness shakes coupons0

If possible it may be a good idea for you to alter your printer settings. I have an option to print "best photo" and find that the bar code comes out better this way, though as mentioned above the Shakes one still doesnt work. Think it does use more ink this way but means that coupons go through much quicker and lessens the quantity of coupons that need the numbers punched in.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494
