    I love to love life.

My life will be the same whether I'm happy or sad so I may as well look on the bright side.

Tomorrow I'll still be unemployed and trying to live off $350/week whilst living at my mother in law's house.

On the flip side of the coin, the forecast is good and my bike is working and there's a really nice 25km bicycle circuit just up the road from here.

Which paragraph would you prefer to concentrate your life on old thing? I know how I'd answer.

Brilliant philosophy! I could do with trying some of that myself, although it's snowing/drizzling here in Newcastle so it's that little bit harder.

What made you move to Oz? Was their entry hurdle very hard to jump or is it relatively easy? Just been looking at New Zealand and unless you're a pig farmer or a cardiologist the outlook isn't good. On the other hand, OH is an engineer and they need some of those....
I'll have some cheese please, bob.

I read that it was the most depressing day today, in the metro on my way to work, but so far it has been a great day, I even got a pay rise. :j

Yes, I was looking forward to some time today to get things done; instead, DD1 is off sick with bad asthma attack. So morning at the doctor's and £14.20 on 2 measly prescriptions also picked up for OH.

    Illness is expensive.

Unless you're on benefits of course. Then it's free.

bet the meds cost a lot more than £7.10 each

Mrs Generali is Aussie so it was easy for me to get a visa.

I don't know about about NZ but 'West Island' is usually on the lookout for engineers.

Apparently, today is the most depressing day of the year  ( apart from those birthdays, of course:D).

    I certainly hope so!

    Great. I just turned 40!

On the bright side.. my workmates had a collection for me (£60) which came as a complete surprise as I never mentioned anything to them. :)

It was indeed a depressing day for me. I made no new year resolutions to break and owe less on January credit card than I did Christmas - plus it is all paid off each month anyway. Despite that it was a horrible day - I do hope it can only get better not worse

Doubt it very much actually. They're inhalers. Inhalers can't cost £7.10, I'm sure. I'm pretty sure that £7.10 is subsidising someone else's expensive medicine, actually. Sorry to disappoint you.

I have always thought that asthma medication should be free, as insulin is for diabetics. It is a life saving medication after all....

I actually stopped getting my inhalers when I was working and started using youngest's inhalers instead as the cost was becoming prohibitive....strangely, I can get them free now due to being on benefits but don't bother because I think I got into the habit of not filling the prescription/going for asthma checks.

It is the same for eye tests and glasses....since being on benefits, I haven't been near an opticians.

I do go to the dentist for a check up at the same intervals as before but still have to pay the hygienist...unlike some others on benefits, I have not had loads of expensive work done, in fact no work done at all apart from a descale..which I had to pay for anyway.

I even forget/not worry to claim for hospital travel and that makes up a huge part of my outlay each month because of the boys conditions.

Think I am still stuck in the working for a living mentality rather than the on benefits can claim for the above one.

So to get back to the topic of this thread....I had a good day yesterday but now I have realised all the above, it's not such a good day today! :D
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
