Anyone interested in Fund investment would do well to consider "investing" in a copy of a book just published entitled "Fundology".
It has been written by John Chatfeid-Roberts who is the very experienced and extremely successful head of Jupiter's MM team.
As the name implies, it gives the lowdown on how funds work, how to pick good ones and, just as importantly, how to avoid the dogs.
BTW, amongst other topics, it also includes a chapter on why trackers should be avoided
