Just spoken to garage, they fitted new starter and got car running but it is damaged internally.

Oh,dear,Hintza.Sorry to hear that.Good luck with the insurance though.0

Just had a wee panic attack! Thought I had put annual mileage as 10k and with a fortnight to go until it's a year old its just uner 12,300 miles.
Just checked and fortunately its 12K miles estimated annual mileage on the documents...whew.
Out of interest what do insurers do if the mileage is say 25% greater than you stated?0 -
Not a lot. They might clamp down if you were a 18 year old boy racer. It's different telling them that you over 6k pa when you do 30k.
At worst they'll deduct an additional premium from the payout. The man without a signature.0 -

Interesting one.
The policy states:-
"If within 1 year of you buying the insured car from new the vehicle incurs damage that will cost more than 60% of the manufacturers list price then we will replace the insured car with a new one of the same make model and spec"
Now the list price is £29,895 however a quick search suggests that they are available for around £22k. Will see how they proceed.0 -
Managed to get through and lodge the claim , waited in from 1pm for them to call me back needless to say they didn't. I called them at 4:30pm.
The thing is these girls can only go by the script and trying to get them off the script is impossible.
Here we go:-
Can I have a courtesy car?
No the car has to have gone to our approved repairer.
But it doesn't require a bodyshop and would end up at the main dealers anyway!
No sorry we would have to send it to our approved repairer
But that would be the main dealer in this instance
No it has to be our approved repairer.
Sigh.....
OK I'll wait until the engineer has inspected it. Will that be tomorrow?
Yes (but said in that way you think there is absolutely no chance he will be there tomorrow)
:wall:0 -
They won't send it to a dealer, unless you make them. Their garage can change an engine.
Insist that they do, or your warranty may be dubious. You may end up having to get a couple of quotes from two local dealers, and take it from there.0 -
Any progress here,Hintza?0
