Hi,
I'm looking to get hold of a freeware or very low cost alternative to Microsoft Outlook (not Outlook Express).
Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me to try and or experience using this type of software?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

So, to check:
Your looking for a free (or similar) email and contact/diary management softwareI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
That's correct, any suggestions?

Have you tried mozilla thunderbird? Its to outlook what firefox is to internet explorer.0

I have had a look at all of the free email clients that I know of but of the ones I've looked at none seem to offer all the capabilities of Outlook.
I'm basically looking for a PIM that will send/receive email and have an intergrated calendar with option to share/publish schedule.
Hope this explains a little more what I'm looking for.

I'm not entirely sure, but the Calendar extension for Mozilla products might be just what you're looking for.0

There are quite a few email programs out there, but why don't you use a webmail service? For example, Yahoo! Mail comes with a calendar, standard email, address book etc. and I think it is possible to download your contacts list in text/CSV form.0

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I may be being too picky here, I do have a Yahoo mail account which offers pretty much all that I'm looking for but I'm not always connected to the net and don't really want to have to print off reams of paper to manage my caledar.
I guess I'll have to re-think my expectations!!
Thanks again for all the replys.0 -
Essensial Pim's calendar feature is very close to outlook's
