car warranties??

Are car warrenties bought from a company other than the place you bought your new/used car worth having??

  • Dont know if they still do it but i got an RAC cashback one 3 years ago. Cost approx £550 for 3 years and if you dont claim (which i haven't you can claim £420 back.

Thing to watch though is i sold that car in december and tried to claim then but they told me i can only claim on expiry of the warranty and the claim has to be made within 14 days of its expiry or you lose out.

So presumably you can still wait until the end of policy and claim a refund?
  • I was looking to see if I could find a good broker such as insuresupermarket to find a good deal. Couldn't seem to come up with anything, and I have never bothered with a warranty before, but I think it could be a good investment this time around.

Did get a qoute online for about £250 per year which covered even for wear and tear. But really i haven't a clue, and can't afford to get ripped off to be honest.
