Help Ebay - postage error

Hi,

Please help I have up for auction an item and it is pick up only, but I forgot to remove the postage info that automaticlly stays on the bottom of the listing form you fill out.

So it currently says pick it up only at the top of the page, but at the bottom it says postage £1.50 first class. and it has one bid on it?, can i remove this £1.50 and then tell the bidder, and if he wants to cancel his bid he can?

You can't alter the listing now you have a bid unfortunately. It might be worth cancelling the auction and when you cancel the current bid email the bidder to say that you made a mistake and the auction has been relisted as number xxxxx.

Alternatively you could revise your item and add to the description in big letters that the postage quoted is a mistake and the item is for collection only.

Problem is you can't revise an auction once it has a bid.

Yes you can revise your item with bids and you can also cancel bids then change p&p:

    Revise:
    To revise your listing:

    1. Click the My eBay button at the top of most eBay pages.
    2. Under the My eBay Views column, click the "Selling" link. Your list of items is displayed.
    3. For each item you want to revise, click the button under the Action column and click the "Revise" link.
    4. On the Review and Submit Listing page, click the "Edit" link next to the part of the listing you want to change.
    5. On the Revise Your Item Page, make your changes.

Note: If you do not see an "Edit..." link, the ability to revise your item has been limited.

    Cancel bids:
    http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CancelBidShow

This means you don't have to cancel your auction and pay 2 listings fees :)

Ebay won't let you remove anything once you have bids, but you can add to the description by revising your item.

Could you not cancel the bid (don't forget to email the bidder to explain!) and then revise the auction? I haven't ever done this myself but the logically there will be no bid so you should be able to.

Not that anything else to do with ebay works logically!
