well... after posting on the techie forum, i have been guided to this isp for my dial up for occasional use on lappy..

its British based, it has a 0845 hepline 24/7, with a real person at the end, the person i spoke to was really helpful. (I have a problem with all our call centres going off to india so im happy it uk based)

so far im happy with zoom, mentioned it on here as its relatively unknown AFAIK.
