My point is that when the rates are changed, invariably in between meter readings, the gas company calculations always favour the supplier. The longer the time in between readings the larger the difference in my experience.
Yes, this is a fair point. Not one you made in your original post though! Always worth submitting your own meter readings when the rate per kwh is changing.0 -
No, the estimated readings do not invariably favour the supplier. To the contrary, invariably, it is the customer who has the advantage.
The party who gains from the initial estimate can be, at random, either of them. If it is in the customer's favour, the customer keeps quiet. If it is in the supplier's favour, the customer is quick enough to supply their own reading and request a manually calculated new bill.0
