I have a problem with cash flow right now and i don't know where to go from here. All my DDs come out on the 1st of the month and i am going to have to wait for my wages. Who do i contact first. My wife and i have always been silly with money. We now have 2 children and have had 1 holiday in 4 years, it is our own fault. We have with all in about £28'000.00 a year comming in its not a geat deal but it is enough to keep us going. We are now very commited to saving cash, but our neglect has left us in the !!!!!! for now. we will pull through i know and be better people for it. In the mean time any help from you guys will be great. Thanks Ben.

  • Is that £28k gross ? or net ?

Start with the highest DD and speak to them, advise them that you cannot make the payment, Most companies understand and will work with you to restructure payments.

Then move onto the next and so on.

    hi Ben
phone your bank and ask for an overdraft on your account and explain why you need it.This worked for me and allows you to take more time about rearranging your DD's into a more friendly user order.
then read as many of Martins Articles as you can and start getting your money back from the banks and utility companies.
Start with a simple and small saving like having a water meter fitted or change your phone supplier.Once your happy with how you dealt with those issues move on and tackle other debts.
take your time and read up on the subject here first and watch out for hidden charges and fees.
good luck and keep us all updated here.

My mail has just arrived with a application for a Vanquis card in it @30.9 % APR.
Obviously I'm not going to apply for it but a reminder to anyone else starting out check your APR rate and try and tackle the highest ones first all is explained in Martin's articles.

    Hiya.

Perhaps an idea to visit the "Debt free wannabe" Board. You might not be in debt but that's where most of us "hang out". Its probably a good idea to list your SOA (all of your incomings and outgoings), you might be able to save some money without realising it!!

Let us know how you get on & stay away from the Vanquis card :0)
