Flowers for Cost

Girls

Although not professional, I have built up a fair amount of floristry experience which I would like to build on to develop into my own business. To develop my portfolio I was thinking of offering my floristry and decorating services for free and only charging cost prices.

I'm not touting for business but wondered what you all think? Do you think it's a good idea? Would you take up the offer?

All comments and suggestions would be appreciated!

I think that's a wonderful idea, but if you're looking to build up business I'd also ask brides if they'd mind their picture with bouquet (or just a close up of hand and bouquet) being available for your portfolio.

It's a shame I'm too far away to take you up on your offer!

I think its a great idea not only will you be helpping yourself but brides to be as well, all new businesses have to start somewhere.

    Hi,

I think this a great idea and depending on how much it would cost I would pay P & P or I will be coming down to Reading to try on my wedding dress and I would send pics from the day for your portfolio. Let me know if you would be interested
  • Thanks for your replies!

I live near Newbury. I do have a few photos. They're quite old now and I think I've improved since then but it gives you an idea:-

I have done one quite large wedding on my own which I did for cost. Would only really be able to help if you need flowers on a smaller scale as I need to fit it in around my day job!

If you're interested, PM your details and I'll see if I can help. I know people talk about doing their own flowers to save money. I wouldn't recommend it if I'm honest but maybe I could offer an alternative?

    Thanks!

I know Cookham Dean. I was living in Wooburn Green up until fairly recently. Valentine's is going to bump up the cost of your flowers!

Thank you! You never know, the offer might still be open. Maybe PM me a bit nearer the time. You've still got loads of time!
