What is the best easy to use anti virus out there? It has to allow a lot of downloading and P2P access.

No antivirus will protect you from p2p this is a new worm undetected at the moment. But i would go for Avira Antivir.

Thanks all, I was recommended one called ESET on another forum. It is not one that I have heard of.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

If your going to pay for security, Eset or Kaspersky are the only ones I'd recommend.
Both of which are very good, reliable products. I think Eset's NOD32 has a higher detection rate than Kaspersky. Either I'm sure you'll be happy with either. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
Like dreamypuma says, IF you want to pay, then NOD 32 (ESET) is the highest rated on many test sites but there are many alternatives.
I started to have problems with AVG 7.5 after years and years of problem free surfing.
On advice from this forum I have replaced it with Avira.
No problems at all but I just simply don't like it.
I don't feel as much in control.
I shall probably get shouted out of court but I can only say as I find.
I am literally, as we speak, downloading AVAST to give that a go but have also downloaded AVG 8.0.
I like to learn for myself so I find it brilliant to be able to read so many people's different views and experiences. That said I also like to try things out.
So I shall shortly uninstall Avira, install AVAST and see how that goes.
Then I will do the same with AVG 8 as many people report having no problems at all with it and AVG has served me well for so long.
But at the end of the day, it's YOUR choice as it is mine.
All opinions are offered in good faith and you just gotta choose!:T0 -
I am not a big fan of AVG8 but I find the best anti virus product is the one that you like and use.
It is no good downloading the best if you don't like or can't get on with it. There are many to choose from and it really is a case of horse's for course's0 -

Another vote for Avast here.No problems with it and it does talk to you as well which is a cool quirk. It does the job very well and I used to be an AVG fan.Cheers

Im on Avira as a result of MSE, I did have Virgin Net guard which was exclusive to Virgin Media, and was inclusive with the fee, however after it let in a myraid of Trojans, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
