As yet I have chased my bank for my bankstatements, however my next step is to go higher, i think its the Information Commissioner
is is best to write or phone them.

When did you ask the bank for copy statements, and did you send £10?

This was last year, november, on my new years reloution list to chase the bank.
it was a letter from here & yes they have taken my £10.00 no surprise.

They would normally have 40 days to respond to this request. With Xmas and New Year I guess it could take a bit longer. If they have taken the £10 then presumably they are still dealing with it, unless they have allocated that money to your account in error.

I'm not trying to put you off complaining, but I think the Information Commissioner expects people to make a reasonable attempt to resolve the matter with the bank first....

You could send a follow up letter if you don't hear anything after 40 days plus a few days for postage.

phoned them they are going to send me a form to complete, but they do have form to complete, as I am not 100% which form it is on line i need.

Is that for statements/bank charges or Financial Hardship?

Did you actually receive your information from November 2008? If not then they are in non compliance with your request and they have taken the fee already....mmmm.
