UCAS Points

Hiya,
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the UCAS points system from BTEC Diploma's,
I cant really understand the UCAS tariff,

Each module will equal a credit ie 3 credits.

When you fill out your UCAS application, you have to input the credit value next to the module title.

I haven't takena BTEC Diploma, but that is how it is done on my access course.

If in doubt, speak to your course tutor, who should know the value of each module

Thats now what the OP is asking I don't think.

In your 3 modules work out what you got, so Pass, Merti or Distinction for each.

Then go here:

http://www.ucas.com/students/ucas_tariff/tarifftables/#btec

So if you got Merit, Merit, Pass you get 200 UCAS points.

I need 200 points, and in the award and certificate I got a merit so is the table saying at the moment I have 160 points not counting the diploma beacuse I haven't finished it yet?
thanks its all so confusing and I havent even started looking at applying for grants etc!

Yes I think so. So far you have got MM, so you can get 200 with a pass in final module. However, don't just aim for a pass, aim higher! Makes you look better on C.V.

I need to get an overall merit so I'll be getting 240 points I guess!

If you're converting from a certificate to a diploma, make sure that you don't count the same units twice. (Sorry, I know someone who did just that.)

go on google and type in 'ucas points calculator' then it just asks for the course you do any any others you may have done such as key skills and it calculates it for yu
