Morrisons - Not honouring dates on deals - legal?

Honestly, some people simply don't have enough to worry about in their lives.0

This makes me wonder about the leaflet that Morrisons issues every couple of weeks with offers in it.
I saw a small TV dinner style table advertised in the leaflet for £5.
However once it was available in the store, it was £7.
I assume the leaflet states prices can change without warning but if I had gone to Morrisons specifically to buy that one item, I would have been very cross.0 -
On Morrison's offers it is displayed large and it also says "offer ends 15th June". If it was just aimed at staff then you would just put 15th June, or even 15/06 or 0615 if you wanted to be really secretive. The staff would know what this date or number meant just as well and you would not be pushing that information at the customer.
And let's remind ourselves that the product is still on the shelf at this time. There are no supply issues. And there are no issues with having stock left as these are items always on the shelves. The only reason for pulling the offer has to be profit and I'm sorry but if you make the offer I expect you to honour it if you have stock. I've changed my shopping patterns because of the offer which is what the 2008 act recognises and the reason it prohibits this.
just because the product is on the shelf, does not mean there are suply problems, maybe the supermarket cannot get hold of enough stock to maintain the promotion, maybe the supplier pulls the deal, as i would imagine in order for the supermarket to put the product on offer they would first have to get a deal from the supplier, as said before al supermarkets from time to time pull deals if the need arises, they do it for a number of reasons, but i am sure they dont do it to wind up there customers, that would not make sense, at the end of the day they are there to make money, and the only way of doing that is buy having customers buy things, which aint going to happen if the customers dont come in because they keep geting messed about, at the end of the day it is up to you where you shop, like other poster says there is more in life to worry about, than a offer being puled a wek early, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -

it works the other way as well, had a guy show me a magazine the other day with a full page advert for the 4 pack branston beans, the magazine said 99p, where as the actual price is 75p, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -
If the offer was advertised outside the shop, ie the TV or in the papers, then clearly it would not be right and the shop should quite rightly be taken to task.
The fact that the product was still in stock is neither here nor there. The supply might have been okay for normal sales, but not promotional volumes. Some deals can increase volume on a particular line by up to 50 times, sometimes more.0 -

Strange as it may seem, these forums are about money saving, whether it be pointing out bargains, or discussing offers etc.
If that is a problem for you, may i suggest you keep your silly comment to yourself and just move on?0 -
had a similar issue with Morrisons when they have big offer signs in front of a product, it clearly states that produxt on th eoffer label etc.. goes through the till at full price- when you query it they will quickly take down The sign & say it doesn't include that item etc... I have become a bit sad in realtion to this perhaps I am one of the folk Halloway refers to when needed to get a life- as I take a pic of the offer when buying it and when they use the age old doesn't include... I pull up the pic & point out where it says the item. Sad I know but sick of being flaffed about in there.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."
as I take a pic of the offer when buying it
I would be very careful about taking pics in supermarkets, you could easily find that you are getting turfed out on your backside! Taking pics is a big no no!0

never had a prob before- yes I am aware it can be a prob- but as long as you are clear that you are taking a pic purely of the promo.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."
