My instinct is that family is worth more than money. Despite this, I would take 'whathavewedone's suggestion. This woman is using a child to extort money. When a person sinks this low, there can be no future in the relationship. In your parents position I would would never let her under my roof again. One dreads to think how the child will turn out with a low life mother like this.

In answer to your specific question, it is possible to get old stuff off the net using the waybackmachine

God knows why she is bringing this up now, especially when she had the chance to buy the house at the same price before me!

My younger brother doesn't care. He is happy with what he got and bought a house with that money himself.

Roses, did you have the same problem too? What happened?

What irks me most is that neither she or my brother have said a single word to me since she sent me a text a month ago saying "you a a money grabbing cow who cares about nothing else" completely out of the blue! The only logical thing that has crossed my mind is that I know she looks at the houseprices.co.uk website and my next door neighbour sold up in October. It's the only reason I can think of which is why she brought it up now!

Sorry I assumed you to be a bloke:o

On the face of it she sounds like a poisonous witch who you are all better off shot from your lives.

Not a lot you can do about your parents' situation other than to tell your brother to grow a pair.

You don't have to do a thing....and don't do a thing.....you bought the house all above board from your parents....ignore any letter you get from your SIL or brother......do not be scared into doing anything

YOU DON'T have to do ANYTHING its as simple as that......if your brother and his wife won't talk to you then that is their problem....

Infact if she contacts you again over it take out a court order that prevents her from contacting you....that should make her smile
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right
