Anyone/know anyone who has completed biggish sponser event (bike ride)

Hello All,

Im after any advice, help or pointers!

My boyfriend & his cousin have arranged a sponsered bike ride for April/may. This is from Leicestershire - Lands end.

They have arranged this on thier own back & have been busy sorting routes, contacting local companies etc..this is approx 90 miles on 1st day & 50-60 on the 4 days after..

Can any one provide any help on what else they should do or peoples experiences? list of emergency contacts..equiptment...sponcership etc..

The money raised is all being given to 3 places.

Dewsbury Brain unit in Leeds, Leicester royal Inf & a care home in Leamington Spa.

Their uncle had a an accident poss froma leaky heart valve/sudden death syndrom & is currently in a coma suffering poss brain damage.

Anything very much welcome & needed!

They'll need a support team and somewhere to stay each night....!!

Also they need to contact the local papers/tv for the areas that they'll be passing through, they might pick up some extra coverage on the way through.

They might get sponsorship for clothing - but that's a bit hit and miss with the current economic climate...

Hi my friends hubbie is doing this also, she is planning a ball type thing, charging £30.00 a couple for a 3 course meal in a upstairs room in a pub, to raise money for this.
