no sound on my video camera

hi peps hope you teckie sorts can help. my computer is a inspiron 6400 DELL it works well and i play music from it and plug in my skype thingy and talk / view friends abroad.all good but my camera (advent mp71) will load and view photos and video clips but there is no sound. could anyone tell me why ? thanks in anticipation.:D
