Any saving from obtaining car insurance and house insurance from same company

Both my car insurance and house insurance are due for renewal and I wondered if there is any saving to be made by obtaining both from the same company?

I can't find any sites that will provide me with quotes for both and show any discount for doing so. I guess it is kind of like buying your gas and electric from the same company.

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks

Paul

A lot of companies will ask on their websites if you already hold motor or home insurance with them when you're applying for one or the other. It's been pretty common practise for quite a few years.

Direct line used to offer a 10% discount on motor if you had home and 25% discount on home if you had motor. I'm not sure if these are still the same, and I don't know how long the discounts apply for, beyond a year.

Try looking on their websites or ringing up and asking them.
