Season Tickets..not necessarily the cheapest...I saved £75 a month!
Hi,
Discovered today that getting an annual season ticket is a waste of money for my kind of work. I realised that i start and finish work at 'off peak times' and decided to see if a 'travelcard' is dead money, as it seems you pay for all zones, every day, on peak, when in fact I only needed zone 1, off peak, 4 days a week.
So here goes:
Travelcard Watford to All Zones about £250 per month or about £16.00 for a daily travelcard
Cheap day return Watford Junction-Euston about 7.60
plus
Oyster Single fare within Zone 1, there and back £2.00 total
Total £9.60 per day x 4 days a week equals £38.40 per week=£166.40 per month (all approx figures...exact figures at home but you see my point...)
If i work a long week or 'on peak hours' or need to make several journeys i just buy a daily travel card every so often. Kerching.
