Charges From Nat West

my partner recently went back to work after being on jsa, after 2 weeks (2 weeks before xmas)was laid off and had to sign back on to jsa, well they didnt send off the claim form so we got no benefits...during this period we had 2 direct debits try to claim from our account which went upaid as we had no money in the acount due to jsa not being paid in as the claim wasnt sent off...we got charged £38 foreach unpaid dd which put us overdrawn so we got a £28 charge for being overdrawn in an account which has no overdraft..we went to the bank and was basically told it wasnt their problem and we had to pay the charges,so we have a £104 in charges and 2 dd which still need to be payed..we are now getting payed our jsa but can we reclaim the charges, any advice would be gratefully recieved
thanks

You can always claim your charges back, Have a read of Martin;'s guide to reclaiming and start the process. Unless you are in Financial Hardship, your claim will be on hold pending the OFT test case finality.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
