Wow, they look great. I have been majorly stressing about table decorations, I bought a load of the 22cm square vases from ikea a while ago and keep changing my mind about what to put in them. I think I will do something like this, it looks really effective and cheap to do, think I'll just have one on each table though. Brilliant, another stress off my mind!!

Ikea do the 14cm and 22cm square vases for £1.75 & 1.96(?), Asda do a very similar 30cm one for £1.96.

Fishing weights work really well with anchoring flowers underwater. The size of the weight will depend on the type of flower used.

I am doing something like this for my tables, except round vases, without pebbles and blue water plus 3 flowers!

I found morrisons, and tescos cheapest for vases.

you could get a bag of pepples from a garden centre (or b and q etc) the sort of thing thats sold for people to put in flower beds etc
Im sure they are less than £10 for quite big bags (should be enough to do all your tables I would think?)

    Its definetly worth a look

Oh and by the way I think its a lovely idea, cheap yet really effective :)

Matalan? To anchor the flower down you could bend the stem into a circle and lie that underneath the pebbles. I've kind of got my eye on some shallow bowls Ikea had in the other day, thought nice pebbles in the bottom and then just some flowers or floating candles (but they tend to be an utter pain in the neck). Or they had some nice hanging lanterns that I thought would look good with pebbles and a white pillar candle in. Basically - I need a shopping trip to Ikea is the gist of it.

    Hi,

I love this idea too, but decided to have some herb planters with some daff or hyacinths in the centre.

Anyway, the flowers used in the picture are cybidium orchids and depending on what time of year you're getting married should only cost between £4-£7 a stem, where you should get at least 10 flowers off each stem. They also sink if you prod them, but to be certain they don't rise up you could pop the individual flower stem under a pebble. They also come in some beautiful colours; pinks (deep and pale), white, yellows and creams so you could tailor your colour scheme too.

Ikea do some bags of pebbles; ready washed, in the candle section for 99p - they are a decent size bag too.
