Now woolworths has gone argos may see it as a oppurtunity to raise prices as there is less competitiuon now on the high street.:mad:0

I noticed a hotpoint washer WMF760 has risen from £369-99 to 391.99, allowing for the vat adjustment thats quite a rise, we bought it from Sainsbury's where it's £2790

A drill I'd reserved at £19.56 is now £22.49
I went to sainsburys and got one for £12.99 instead!0 -
yep hold back on argos purchases for a few months nearly everything has gone up..i got my new zanussi washing machine for £211 delivered on Jan 5th.. the same machine in the new book is £313 ..unbelievable £102 more for the exact same machine, they do this so they can pretend to be giving you great deals throughout the year, when all they are doing is bringing products down to a reasonable price again..getting very hard to find real bargains now a days, most retailers completely overprice the item in the first place and then in their pretend sales, they bring it down to almost a reasonable price..all bloody con artists.

i had a whole list of new items i was going to get with my vouchers i got for xmas but i cant justify getting some of the items now...the price of some of the toys shocked me tbh.

is it really such a shock to find that prices have gone up in the 6 months between catalogues.
i did expect them to rise a bit but definitely not by as much as they have done..the washing machine i bought was in a sale at £211 a week before Christmas, when i ordered it OK. now last week when i was looking at the price of a machine for my daughter it had gone up in price to £268. and when i got the new book yesterday it is now an amazing price of £313. which i think is ridiculous and a rip off from a supposedly reputable company like argos...0 -
"supposedly reputable company like argos"
Nothing you have said has made the company any less "reputable" a retailer!Argos Staff Member.
I'll gladly help with any queries - but if you have any problems and need to get some real guidance, go back to your local store or contact customer services (argos.co.uk).

I am glad others thought stuff had gone up a lot too!
I worked for Argos many moons ago - and was surprised to see "new" prices (I mean with suppossed VAT cut) as I thought they were printed more in advance than when they came out?????
I suppose the huge increases are to pay for the reductions over xmas?:p0 -
we also noticed the price increases when we picked up the new catalogue on sat, a dinner set i bought last spring for £28 is in the new catalogue for £34! you have to be really careful with Argos as they seem to change somw of their prices daily
i only get bargains from there! i got some Tressemme Hair straightners over xmas from Argos that were reduced from £65 down to £19.99! over the next few days after i purchased the price went back up to £34.99:rolleyes: wierd!mummy to 3 monsters!
trying to money save, but spot too many bargains on here!!0 -
