    OH is a birdy nut and used to breed both types of these birds (he has pigeons now :D) He says def the red hooded siskin.

    Not a Bullfinch, they have black caps (and white bits too!)
    However, this siskin is nothing like the small yellow & black siskins we get visiting our garden each January / February.
    We'd never even heard of them before I had to look them up!
    Worse things will have happened in the world today...

    They are both January comps, one is for garden birds and the other for cage and aviary birds.
