NCD car insurance?

Been with one insurance company for 2 years since first starting to drive. Planning to move insurer now that another insurance company would be cheaper. My insurer has e-mailed me with an online renewal quote, but have not received any paperwork through the post.

What do I need to do to prove to my next insurance company that I have 2 years no claims? Will my current insurer automatically post the documents I need when the policy lapses?

Thanks in advance.

Actually if you do nothing in most cases the insure will auto renew your insurance so to keep you insure and legal. Now if you call new insurance company, and you like the quote and hence take it out. If they want prove of no claim history, when you call the old insurance to cancel your policy you can ask them to send confirmation of your no claim history. Also alot of insurance companies now just call the other insurance company to get confirmation. At least that is what my last insurance company did.

Sorry I know its only a word but the OP doesn't want to cancel their policy, they don't want to renew it.
Calling your current insurer to cancel a policy will cost you whereas calling them to say you don't want to renew will not.

I know you most likely meant to say 'renew' and not cancel but I just wanted to point it out incase other members read it and get confused about what they should be doing.

I've just moved from Direct Line to Swiftcover, and they accepted an email scan of the renewal notice as proof, as it says "x years no claims" on it
