  • Hi

Having read this thread there is some great advice. I was made redundant 10 years ago and didn't realise the impact it had on me!

A couple of months ago I finally took action and wrote a short book on the steps I took to get myself out of it. I am making the book available FREE on Amazon Kindle from m28 Sep 2013 and 2 Oct in the hope it reaches many others in the same situation.

It can be found on Amazon and is called 'Putting 'The Boot' On The Other Foot: Successfully Project Managing Yourself Out Of Redundancy'

I hope it is useful to those who take advantage of this opportunity and and feedback to improve the book is welcome; all contact details are in the front page of the book cover.

    Happy Reading :)

    Hi all advice welcome

I may have the chance to sign up now but leave in18 months time.

The payment I think will be about 60k.

    I will be 51 when I leave.

Anything I need to be aware of in the formal letter, sign-up that I may need to get checked out ?

Hope to go mid year to offset tax implications of the 30k above the 30k tax free limit.

My notice period is 3 months.

Is there any limits on being re-employed in the public sector or local government that may affect my vr money ?

    Thanks so much I advance

I am going to a jobs fair in my local town on Friday that the Jobcentre plus is hosting. I know there will be companies recruiting for Christmas vacancies, but there may be something there for me.

I have a job at the moment, but only took it after I was made redundant from the company next door (the boss already knew me and knew I could do the job), but the place isn't ideal and I don't want to stay there long term, I've been there since January this year.

Apart from take a few copies of my CV to this jobs fair, is there anything else I need to do, or do anything to prepare for it, as I've never been to one?

    Thanks in advance.
