Lloydstsb balance transfers

Hi
Im new to this so have a little patience.
My friend applied for a Lloydstsb advance credit card along with the 5.5% transfer for the life of the balance. Granted within hours.
She then transfered the balance from 2 different cards to the new advance card. Sounds easy dont it.
All went well. UNTIL. She noticed that the balance from her other Lloydstsb card, i beleive its the Classic card. This was now clear of any debt because Lloydstsb transfered it automaticaly. Can they do this ?
She did question this and was told that she was not allowed to have 2 Lloydstsb cards so they decided to transfer without her knowledge the balance from the classic to the advance card. Not only that but, the balance from the classic card could not benefit from the 5.5% balance transfer rate. They said it would be 11. ?% or other because its a Lloydstsb card. Can they really do this without prior consent or are they trying it on. I think in the long run she has done well but she did have to ask them to up the credit limit to accomodate this. Fair play they did. If anyone understans this, Please answer
in the simplest of terms. Not that im simple but need to get my head around this.
