I know housing benefit is dealt with by the local authority and IS by the DWP/Jobcentre but do IS people get to know of housing benefit claims?
I thought one was dependent on other but perhaps I'm wrong.

Where I live the Housing Executive (which handles HB claims) know about IS claims (althoguh you have to tell them at the start of the HB claim) but the Jobcentre does not know about HB claims0

If you want to claim full HB and CTB by virtue of being on I/S then the local authority obviously need to confirm with the DWP that you are getting I/S0
