Free Website for my Handbags

Hello, I wonder if anybody can help me please. I currently sell on Ebay and am finding the fees crushing.
I want to find a simple to use website which I can upload my photos of my handbags and list them to sell.
I am looking on maybe doing a wedding/ball theme.
I also need ways of promoting my website without paying hosting fees if there is such a way.
I can make business cards etc and advertise to exisiting customers, but other than that can't think of many more free ways.
Thanks a lot

There are other auction sites apart from ebay with cheaper fees e.g. ebid. Ebid also have a free listing scheme (with less prominent placing). However you'd presume they get vastly fewer visitors than ebay and so less chance of selling something. Here's their fees:

If you get a web site, you could try google product search to promote it. As far as I know, listing your items is free:

Thanks Bonzer,
But I already have used E-Bid and various other auction sites, but only ever had two sales between them all in 5 years.
Not enough people buy from them, they have plenty of sellers though.0 -
I would avoid a "free" web site. There are always drawbacks like they place adverts on your pages or they own your domain name. Also, you lose credibility if you sell a "luxury" item from a free web site. Go for a low cost one. The one I use is betterwebspace. (I have no connection with this company).
I use a free shopping cart called "Mal's e-commerce". It's basic and requires you to learn a little HTML but the price is right!0 -
Zymic offers free hosting with no adverts http://www.zymic.com/ get 50gb bandwidth as well.0

You would definitely need a site with no adverts, as they seriously affect a user's opinion of you. So you will need a host without one. I would also recommend you get an ecommerce shopping cart that is pre-built.
I can help you install one if you want as you would need some HTML / PHP knowledge0 -
Thanks everyone. I know what you mean about adverts, they do get annoying.
I will checkout some of your suggestions, thank you.0 -

i use these and at £10 a year i dont think itll break the bankif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -
www.mrsite.com works out to be about (I think) £40 every two years. It's very easy to use and set up, you need no previous experience of web design, and gives provides you with e-commerce facilities as well, so you can set up a "checkout" page by ticking a couple of boxes.
I set up a personal site with them a few years ago. I've PM'd you a link to my personal site if you'd like to see the kind of layout and quality on offer. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

I'd recommend http://bigcartel.com
then all you need is to buy a domain name and point it to their site.
Bg cartel only charges you for more than 5 items on sale at any one time.
Otherwise its free (apart from the paypal fees)David James aint got nothing on me0 -
When I wanted a site, and couldn't be bothered to build it myself I emailed the Head of School at Leeds Uni, asking If he could send an email to all the students on his course, 5 replied, they all submitted designs and I choose the best for my needs and it cost just over £200, which has been coded much better than some so called professional sites.0
