My daughter in-law has only been working for her current employer for 10 wks and is 10 wks pregnant, she has been in continuous employment for 3 years....if her employer is not obligated to pay her satutory maternity pay am I right in thinking a form is completed and she can claim it directly from Social Security?

yep if she doesnt qualify for SMP then she should be able to get MA if she has been in employed for the qualifying period.
Her employer should give her a SMP(1) form to send in with the MA form.0
