Apologies as I'm sure it's covered elswhere, but don't have much time at the moment to go through all the threads.
But was wondering what the latest is, and can you do anything with suspended claims? For example 18 months ago I was offered £800 trying to claim over £2k, turned it down, then the court case started. Would also assume that banks paying out more cash in the current climate would not be good for the overall health of the economy if the case goes against them.

Hi,
I sent in my bank statements in to reclaim bank charges etc. and received my first letter back saying that the bank beleive the fees are fair and lawful, they also say most banks are involved in legal proceedings with the office of fair trading.. so until the determination of the legal issues they have asked the financial service authority to suspend dealing with unarranged bank charges and they have agreed ..
did anyone else get this letter? I dont know if its a fob off or to keep trying.
grateful for any help

That's what I got 18 months ago, all cases suspended until the outcome of the case. Can't find any updates on this case so was wondering if anyone else knew or heard anything, of course the landscape has changed significantly in this time.
The banks could be in even more trouble if they have to pay out millions in backdated charges, I wonder if the current situation will have any influence on the outcome, rather than being judged purely on its own merits?0 -

The above link has all the information about what is happening with the OFT test case now as well as transcripts on the OFT test case and appeals. Furthermore Martin Lewis has updated the article about claiming charges back to incorporate the Test case and Apeals.0
