Charging batteries of new DECT phone

Hi, this might sound like a pretty silly question but I've just bought a new DECT phone for my grandmother and the instructions say that the batteries need to be charged for 24 hours.

However, to save time I was wondering whether it would be possible to put the same batteries (AAA sized NiMh ones) into the Energiser charger I use for my other rechargeable batteries? I was hoping that it might be quicker to fully-charge the batteries this way - I'm assuming that using the internal charging mechanism of the phone would be slower.

I'd be grateful for any advice on this!

Thanks!

  • I no my Panasonic just use NimH AAA batteries so you can charge them up in standalone charger. I think they need mains to phone as its much easier to have them on constant trickle charge than keep replacing them

Thanks for the advice - I only want to charge the batteries in this way the first time so that it's quicker than waiting the whole 24 hours - they will be charged via the phone's internal charger from then on.
