Creditcard Purchase Dispuite....Advice & Suggestions needed

in Credit cards
Hi All, Got a question,
In April 2008 My mum paid £500 on here Lloyds Creditcard as a deposit on a car for my sister. After a month of 2'ing and frowing, the deal fell through as my sisters finance company refused to finance the car as it was not a UK supplied car as it had been advertised (there were also a couple of other descriptive errors in the advert), this being a pre-requist of the loan provision.
I just found about this today and called the garage in question "Auto 2000" in Ealing, and politley asked for a refund given the circumstances. The owner was very obtuse and told me that it was indeed a UK car and that as such it wasnt his fault and there was no chance of a refund as he had incurred £500 in admin costs. He also said that there is a signed contract that says the deposit is non-refundable, however i'm sure that this cant be the valid if the garage lied about the history of the car and so it was not the buyer (my sister) at fault.
I have raised a dispute with Lloyds for the transaction and am thinking of taking the garage to small claims court (via money claim online) to get the money back, but am not sure if i should wait for the bank to attempt to get the money back first or just go ahead with the claim.
Any help or advice would be welcome, and i am going to try and prove myself via the DVLA that the car was not UK supplied.
Cheers
Adam

I would definitely advice solving the problem through Lloyds TSB (i.e. a chargeback) first.
With a small claims court, even after winning the case, you need to worry about enforcing the judgement. If it can be solved way beforehand through Lloyds TSB that will definitely solve you all the trouble!
Good luck!0
