Bank Overpayments

hi folks,

apologise if this is out of the spec of this forum but i thought i should ask.

when we finally won our bank charges back last year unbeknownst to us we received a 2nd repayment (an earlier offer) paid as well.

unfortunately the bank have now taken us to court over the overpayment.

we had not realised at the time that we had received the 2nd payment (as credited directly) and now would find it difficult to repay that payment back.

are the bank liable to accept some part payment or infact a repayment schedule on a monthly basis?

any advice would be great thanks.

  • You must be rolling in money, that you did not notice the second payment. :D

Of course you can come to some arrangement with the bank, make them a reasonable offer. If the bank takes
you to court, you can make an offer to the court. But your credit rating will be shot to smithereens.

One way or another, you will have to pay it back.

I think this is a sign you should start budgeting as you must not be for this to be allowed to happen. If even an errant £10 appeared in my account I would notice!!

How much are they demanding back?

I think you have asked this on penalty charges forum(natty, on there). I will have a relook at that thread there and respond there later today, apologies.
