toddler + Wii = Disaster !!

My 2 year old has attempted to play on the Wii by jamming 3 cd's into it.
We have got the cd's out but now the wii will not take the games into the slot.
We have ordered a tri plane screwdriver to get the screws off but what are our chances of rectifying the problem once we can get in there ?

It could be the mechanism inside is broke so it will need replacing0

How old is it? If under a year, I would have a word where you bought it and cross your fingers behind your back when they ask what happened and just say "I don't know" the mechanism seems to have jammed/stopped working!
