Putting XP onto Acer Aspire one

I run XP on my AAO and work fine and dandy. Only thing i have found that runs slow is when I do any photo processing in Elements, but that will be just a ram thing, apart from that no worries at all
Just remember that it is not a NOTEbook, it is a NETbook, so if you buy one expecting it to be as powerful as a laptop, then you will be disapointed. But use it for what it is designed for and you will not be disapointed
Thanks Althas, I bought mine as a replacement for my Asus eee, which I found ideal for the web and general stuff. The reason for the change, I need more space on the hard drive, the Asus only had 4gb (I did add a 8gb sdhc card but that soon filled up!) so the Acer with a 120gb hard drive seemed the best solution, also the slightly larger screen is another benefit I liked.0 -
Thanks, NIrleand Guy.
I was thinking of upgrading the memory in mine from 512mb to 1.5gb but I have heard you have to take it apart to get to the unused memory slot. Did you do this to yours and if you did, did it effect your warranty at all.
Aw mate, that is a total nightmare, you have to pull the keyboard of and pull everything apart, I didn't upgrade my memory, only took it apart to see if I could fix it, it does effect warranty though, They never caught on I had mine apart, but it is a far from easy job, Mine had 1gb ram anywayThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. I thought so, I have rebuilt laptops/pc's in the past so the thought of doing this doesnt bother me too much, was just a bit concerned about the warranty thing, with you saying yours died on you. I dont think I can live with only 512mb though - so wish me luck!0 -

Thanks for that Tight -git, like I said, I was happy with my Asus eee but the hard drive was to small. I think the Acer could be the answer I was looking for.:rotfl:0
