Oh thank you, I did get some gorgeous hot water bottles from Lloyds for my girls when Boots had none in the sale will be looking now at the site to see what else there is.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0 -
Just wanted to warn you all about the Good Works Oil Burner I bought from Boots in the 50% sale.
I lit it last night with water in and the oil provided and within an hour it had gone bang, covering my lounge in a lovely fragrant oil/water mix!!!
I have just phoned Boots who said I could get refund no problem and gave me the number for Goodworks. I rang them and they were just not interested! She even insinuated I hadn't put water in it! How rude!!
Thank goodness my son wasn't playing underneath it (it was on mantelpiece). He would have been scalded.
I know alot of you may have bought these like I did in the sale so please be on your guard!!!
This is quite a 'common' generic issue with oil burners (and is why I personally don't use them - I had something similar happen about 10 years ago, except the oil/water mix ignited when it exploded   . Friends had similar stories.) I really think these things are dangerous.
Glad to hear your little one was no where near.
I'd call Boots back and let them know of your experience with them - as an agent of Boots - I would hope Boots would be !!!!ed off, and take it further on your behalf.April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -

I was finally brave enough to go and get my Olay GWP today, I had seen them when I went in for the sale last week but was too chicken to pick one up.
I picked it up with a packet of wipes and heart pounding took it to the till the lovely sa scanned it and asked if it was "one of those free things" I just about managed to mumble yes and she popped it all into a bag for me :j
Many thanks to everyone who takes the time to post all these lovely glitches.0
