    How timely...following a period of extended mental illness, I am just about to leave with my entire family for Nebraska, to take up a caretaker's job looking after a very remote, empty & snowed in hotel. An Aldi log splitting maul may come in useful towards the end of our stay. Thanks OP.

    Screwfix have a log splitter for I think £5.99 My local screwfix had run out of stock though,

    I got one of those woodsplitters from screwfix and did not really rate them, its much easier to just use the maul.

    Comedians aside..... those of us with wood, axes, mauls and log grenades are real MSEs.

    Good wood means lower heating bills and is carbon neutral if you're into that sort of stuff.
