I have twicw installed IE7 and had to revert to IE6 after finding that once IE7 is installed I cannot access my HP4500C scanner.
Does anyone know if this can be rectified as I would prefer to have the latest browser installed.

have you tried looking for and installing the latest drivers for the scanner ?? either via windows update or on HP's site..sounds like this is the issue........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Yes, done both but no joy.
Another possibility is that HP are no longer producing updates for products to work with later versions of IE and OS...had similar with my old epson scanner - I have a driver that now works for basic scan and save, but most of the original features such as scan to e-mail, scan-to-web, etc. don't work any more...either: hunt round for drivers/patches from other sources, revert to IE6 or bite the bullet and give up and get another scanner that will work with your setup.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I think the better option is revert to IE6 which I dont use as my main browser and keep all the original HP features both Firefox and Google wok fine, another case of MS c*cking things up.Another possibility is that HP are no longer producing updates for products to work with later versions of IE and OS...had similar with my old epson scanner - I have a driver that now works for basic scan and save, but most of the original features such as scan to e-mail, scan-to-web, etc. don't work any more...either: hunt round for drivers/patches from other sources, revert to IE6 or bite the bullet and give up and get another scanner that will work with your setup...Change is here to stay0
