Does student income for parent count as income for child's student loan?

I am trying to work out why my DD's grant has been withdrawn. ON Studentfinancedirect.com it states that to be eligible for a partial grant, the residual household income of the parent's must be below £39, 305. OUr household income for the last tax year was not that much - let alone when you take off the allowance of £1k per child that we have living with us (total £2k).
I was wondering if they counted up all the student loan I got and counted it as income (I was a student at the same time as my daughter for the last 2 years). But even that doesn't take us to the threshold! I just can't work it out!
Anybody help?

Student Loans are certainly counted for benefits purposes, although that doesn't answer your question, I know.0

Just spoke to them and they have said that it is NOT counted as income for this purpose. They also agreed that the figures are wrong and that we are way below the threshold and they can't understand why the grant has been withdrawn. Have to ring the council on Monday to sort it out!!! Originally the council awarded her only the 75% of the loan and then she had to fill in another applicaton to get the grant as the council admitted that they had done it wrong. They awarded the grant and then took it away again!!! It is so stressful!! Why can't they just do it right in the first place???0

Glad that you seem to be getting it sorted out. Strange the way it counts for one thing and not another, isn't it?0 -
Yes it is, and even odder though, is even if it WERE counted, it still wouldn't take us to the threshold!!!0

For student loans it's all about taxable income. For benefits it's about how much you need to live off, taxable or not. That's my interpretation of it anyway.0
