Laptop Safemode not working. Please help

I have an ACER 3200 Travelmate laptop. When I switch it on it goes direct to a blue screen with a message on there. This flashes off too quickly for me to read. If I go to Safe mode or last known configuration the same thing happens. The blue screen comes up and then it goes back to the safe mode menu.
I am running windows XP, I have not downloaded or installed any new software and I do not have a recovery disc.
I am trying to take a photo of the blue screen so I can read the message and will post up the message later.
In the meantime is there anything I can do
What could the problem be
I notice on the internet that I can purchase recovery discs to insert into my laptop. Do these work and are they any good

After taking numerous photos the two main error codes on the screen are

    UNACCOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

An after a few words about deleting any software I may have added(Which I have not)

    STO 0 X 00000ED (0 X 8533D978, 0 X C0000006, 0 X 00000000, 0 X 00000000)

    Any ideas anyone?

You need to make use of the recovery console and run the chkdsk c: /r command. More info available here where you can download the necessary.

Hope you can fix the problem. If you succeed, one of the first things to do is the following.

Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties"
    Select the "Advanced" Tab
Click the "Settings" button in the "Startup and Recovery" section
In the "System Failure" area, untick the box next to "Automatically restart"
    Click "OK"
    Click "OK"

Now, if you get a BSOD again, the PC will now not auto-restart and you will be able to write down the error message.

    Good luck.
