Does anybody know where I can get the best deal on this? I'm looking to buy the DS adapter and microcard. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks :j

  • Oh, I never knew that. I've already bought one previously from memorybits.co.uk and it's been great - friend's got one also with no probs. It cost around £20 so maybe we've already got a good deal. Thanks for the advice.

The original company stopped producng R4s last April, so there are no more software updates available for them. Whilst they are fantastic cards, my son is finding that more and more of the new games don't work on them, so personally I would buy a different brand if I were buying a new one now. Apparently Acekard and Edge are good, but I looked for Edge on DealExtreme earlier this week and they were out of stock. If you don't mind buying from HongKong, DealExtreme are almost certainly the cheapest reliable place to get these kind of cards from.

Thanks - never heard of these before, they seem fairly cheap as well. I will keep an eye on this site - thanks

My personal favourite is the DSTT, although the N5, a R4 clone, is very good.

My other son has a dstt which works fine, however there have apparently been fake batches - when I looked on the dstt homepage, the bit about how to tell if it's a fake card looked really complicated!!

None of these are genuine nintendo so a fake of a fake is a bit meaningless. The newer makers are actually in front with software - try v1.18 rather than the old v1.13 for newer games on the r4 v2 , newer sdhc cards have even newer software. Shop around for a microSD card as they are usually overpriced with the r4 cart as a bundle

DSTT works for me. Stick an 8g card in it and play games and watch films galore.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but would you mind telling me what software you use to convert the films to .dpg format? I tried last year but only managed to convert short video clips, anything like a dvd always failed (was on an old pc though).
