DVD disc wont play!

Can anyone please help, I am a novice at this. I record a programme off my Samsung TV on to my Samsung DVD recorder. It plays ok. The problem is that when i take the disc to work and try and play it on my NIKKAI dvd player or any other dvd player it wont play. I would appreciate any advice or help. Thanks.

Make sure you have 'Finalised ' the dvd. It will be covered in the manualI'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

The recordings you make with your DVD recorder are not the same as normal DVDs (until the disc is finalised).
There might (should) be a setting on the recorder that will "Finalise" the disc so it is compatible on any player. Look at your manual again. Also some older DVD players won't play DVDRW discs, they literally can't read the discs at all, so you need a write once DVDR.0
