It depends what you mean by cheap. Try the Travelodge near Houndsditch.0

theres also a travellodge on city road, along with Kings X and a few others.
Hilton has 50% off at the moment, on last minute ( dont forget quidco) and pigsback. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
With London's bus & tube system I wouldn't rule out looking slightly further afield. We always stay around Blackheath, just south of the river & handy for the 02 arena - lovely area with quite a lot of good hotels.0

It totally depends on which week you want and what is going on in the city at that time. I would suggest that youm look at apartment complexes for a stay of a week.0

i like the st georges hotel at langham place on regent street, great location and cheaper than some of the other hotels (its opposite the langham hotel, its set back a bit so you may not notice it initially http://www.saintgeorgeshotel.com/MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

Also, as mentioned in the post above, the Bloomsbury area would be ideal and has many cheaper hotels and B&Bs, but the area is lovely and easy walking distance from Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Euston, St. Pancras and King Cross. You may like to do a search on Laterooms for Bloomsbury to see what is available then give a few hotels a call to see if they will offer you a slight reduction for a week long stay.0 -
That's a good recommendation. I booked this for the first time yesterday and they appeared to be really nice people too.
.
they are, i have stayed there at the saint georges regent street 5 times now and they cant do enough for you! never had a problem, and i always arrive there before the official checking in time (often 4/5 hours before) and usually if i email them the day or two before to advise they usually have the room ready as soon as i get there! not to mention they have been happy with helping us when we need it (ie booking taxis, directions, booking a tour, arranging tickets for things etc)
only thing i would say is the bars expensive, (thought arent all london hotel bars lol!) but i would recommend going up there for the veiw (its on the top floor the 15th floor) not much of an atmosphere up there a bit sparse but nice city veiws on a clear night/day
the hotel itself has its reception on the ground floor but the rooms are quite high up (accessable via 2 lifts that have never been a problem when i have been there) as the building is shared with the bbc offices.
its great for access to oxford street and regent street shopping as well as the west end. its literally a few minutes walk from oxford circus tube station, and is only a 20 min walk to the west end theatres max.
rooms are really clean and a reasonable size and mini bar in the room and for under/around £100 a room you cant complaint (depending on when you book - ie week/weekend, how far in advance etc, i have paid from £78 for the room up to £135, but imo its a bargain, far better than the euston ibis i used to stay at in stead in terms of location, price and quality) and not to mention a third of the price of the langham hotel across the street!
i have recommended this place to several friends/family and those that have stayed have all said it was a really good find, its not one of the most well know hotels, but its good service and i think a lot of their guests are via word of mouthMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
