Go and ask that lot over in the DFW board, there's a bunch in there trying to get off it. :beer:I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
My local of many years is really struggling sadly. I can remember Friday and Saturday nights, really packed out. Loads of pubs in our city are closing up. I think that the property companies that own them charge stupid rents. Couple that with the ever widening gap between supermarket booze and the smoking ban I see a poor future for the " local ". Sadly yet another bit of our heritage going to the wall.
Dont mention the smoking ban, the 'antis' will be right on about how wonderfull it is, as 30 pubs a week shut.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The one where you showed us Dithering Dad is a complete liar. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0 -
friday nights are my favourite night of the week, no work tomorrow, a big dish of bubble and squeak cooking in the oven, a refreshing glass of mineral water with lemon and QI, lovely0

I don't drink....and the only place I go to on a Friday night is the local swimming pool to take middle son to swimming club!
Jenner - I love Friday nights too, it's my late night (planned late rather than the can't sleep late sort) and I can just relax and not worry about being up too early the next morning. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Never really went out on a Friday night anyway, so no different for us here.In Progress!!!0

Up until 4 years ago, we would always go out for a SE London curry on Friday Night....then in 2004 we had our own special credit crunch (just for us) and it all stopped.
So tonight, I cooked Indian from scratch, half a bottle of Lidl Cotes du Rhone, big coal fire, chit chat with OH (who's been away most of the week), celebrating a stonking big order from Internet Land......now he's sneaked off to watch a cra99y film.....and I am hanging out with Fungus (who recently left charm school and got A* in talikg to women).
Ooops, son just called in....he's down in Brighton researching something for his finals......hunting for leftovers in the kitchen right now....so off to chat to him now.0 -
In tonight for me, early start tomorrow carrying on with my panel van to campervan conversion (UK holidays here I come) and out tomorrow night for a 2for1 Zizzi meal in Liverpool. MSE at its best!
Just chased Nationwide for my 2for1 cinema pass for spending on my credit card too. Work work work.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
I don't have any mates. You can't go out without mates. It's !!!!!!. And being female you look like some desperate bird who's up for it.
Instead I've cooked my food for the weekend and decanted it into portions for the fridge. I've done all the washing up and clearing away and am now checking through traybake recipes to whip up some chocolatey flapjack type of things.
Home made loaf of lovely bread is in the kitchen too.
Why on earth would I go out and miss out on all that fun?0
