What is 'Transport Supplement'?

I'm looking to book a holiday to Morrocco for late March. The best flights are through Thomas Cook, but when I go through to get a quote, they are adding on;-

Fuel supplement 2 x 10 = £20
Transfers 2 x 20 = £40
Transport Supplement 2 x 19 = £38

I get the Fuel supplement and the transfers, but what exactly is the transport supplement about?

I've checked out holidays to Tunisia, and they dont have this transport supplement, and if you check out the Gambia, then it is there, at £200.

Is this just another rip off, or can somebody help me to understand just what it is covering.

If any of you good peeps out there can get me to Morrocco for around £500, going out on the 27th March for one week (two people), then please pm me.

Hmmm we flew with TC to Benidorm for New Year. They changed our return flights twice and instead of arriving at 13.05, we didn't arrive until 22.15. There was another flight earlier in the day and both flights were the same price on their website so I called to see if we could change to the earlier flight, willing to pay an Admin fee.

When I called I was told there was a "Transport Supplement" on the earlier flight of £158 for both of us. I was so shocked I declined without asking what exactly it was for.

Its what used to be called a flight supplement.

Brochure prices is based on the cheapest available flight - usually Gatwick, mid-week, in the middle of the night.

Other flights will incur an additional supplement - for example a flight with nice day timings, a smaller local airport or a weekend.

Now re-named transport supplement.

The £200 odd transport supplement for the Gambia holiday will more than likely be the premium economy option.

I've just checked out the holiday again today and the transport supplement seems to have been removed. The holiday is now £564 where as it was showing as £602 over the weekend. How odd!!!

I dont know if I could cope with the buzz of Marakesh, a nice leisurely Agadir beach chill is what I was hoping for.
